Started writing it but had to stop once riots broke out and was imprisoned. He did a majority of the writing for this book from prison
Point is to tell about his experiments with truth
Didn't like the name Mahatma which was given to him
Gandhi's goal was self realization, to see god face to face, to attain moksha
Wants all his actions to adhere to his reason and his heart
Worships god as truth only
Believes that whatever possible for him is also possible for a child
Seeker of truth should make himself more humble than the dust
What I got out of it
The self-discipline Gandhi showed throughout his life is other worldly. From his fasts and diets to his dedication to nonviolence. There are lessons here for anybody from any walk of life - massive change often does not require a revolutionary idea, simply dogged persistence and clarity of vision
